The
Huicholi Indians of mountainous western Mexicos' great symbol of the
ancient Mexicans is Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent. When the
Huichol goes on his first ritual journey, he paints two symbols on his
face: one in expanding circles and one in a spiral. These are the
symbols most frequently found in prehistoric rock inscriptions in
Ireland, as well as everywhere else in the world. They are the
descriptions of the Earth Force and the Cosmic Force, which are as one.
To comprehend it is to perceive who we are, where we came from and
where we are going. It describes man's place in the universe and opens
us up to our full potential as human beings.
